Results of Fibro Opinion Poll #2

So... it's been over a month (almost 7 weeks) since I asked people visiting my site what treatment is helping them with their fibro the most... so here are the results. And, might I say, they surprise me a bit.

Anyway, here they are:

As you can see, the treatment felt to be most helpful by the largest percentage (the majority, in fact) was prescribed medication. This surprises me, as a previous large survey conducted by the American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Association (AFSA) found massage to be the treatment felt to be helpful by the largest percentage (rated helpful by 70%). Most prescribed medications only were felt to help about 30%.

Admittedly, however, the two polls were asking different questions. AFSA asked people to list ALL treatments they felt to be helpful; and they listed drugs individually. I asked what ONE treatment was MOST helpful for you (so you could only choose one), and lumped all drugs together.

Hmmm!

The next logical question is: If prescribed medications are MOST helpful, which ones are MOST helpful? And this will be the question I ask in the next poll.

So... give me a few minutes... tick, tick, tick, tick... so I can go back and change the poll question on my website, and then visit my website - http://thefibrofog.com/ - and tell me, and other readers, what prescibed medication has helped you most (or if none of them have).

I look forward to hearing from you.

  1. Doc, I've gone gluten free at my docs' recommendation after a diagnosis this past fall for fibro and chronic myofascial disorder. I'm having better days more often and was curious if this is a topic you've explored as well... I don't find that many talk about a correlation... www.galgoneglutenfree.com
